Ms. Denetra Gary is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Maryland (LCSW-C), Nevada (LCSW), Indiana (LCSW), and North Carolina (LCSW). Ms. Gary graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 2008. She then went on to complete a Master of Social Work degree from Howard University in 2011.
Ms. Gary has six years’ experience in the field of social work and mental health counseling. She’s provided therapy and support to patients with HIV/AIDS — helping them overcome the stigma and discrimination associated with the disease. Her therapeutic focus includes working with adult women who struggle with anxiety, depression, chronic disorganization, and dysfunction. Ms. Gary is a Christian and uses her God-given therapeutic counseling abilities, skills, knowledge, and insights to guide women toward wholeness, interpersonal competence, metal stability, and spiritual maturity. She is personally devoted, and deeply committed to helping women overcome deep emotional roots that lead to sin.
Ms. Gary is skilled in using a variety of treatment modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Systems Theory, Talk Therapy, Conflict Theory, Solution Focused Model and Task-Centered Model to overcome life challenges. Although these modalities are great tools to developing a platform for growth, Ms. Gary believes the bible is the source for complete healing. She’s dedicated to studying the bible and uses the bible as the sole means to affect change.
Ms. Gary is affiliated with the National Association of Christian Counselors and the National Association of Social Workers. She follows the National Social Work Code of Ethics and operates from a non-judgmental, confidential, and non-biased view.
